Research and Design

SIS works closely with the department of Soil Technology and Agro biology at Wageningen University and Research Centre in the Netherlands. This allows SIS to have access to the latest specialised research. SIS has developed two unique computer models,

• LSM SIS is light simulation model that shows the reduction of light (PAR) in stadiums. The average 50,000 to 80,000-seater stadium has a (PAR) reduction of 40-50 %. This model allows SIS to develop a construction and maintenance program best suited to the growing environment.
• USM SIS is a model that ensures correct temperature levels for under soil heating systems. Research has shown that by utilising this program, savings on energy costs of up to 30% can be achieved. This has been proved in practise in Holland.

STRI Bingley - England
SIS & Greenfields co funded a research program into different soil types for XtraGrass. The project was completed in 2005.. The project was headed by Dr.Steven Baker of STRI.

Bayern Munchen – Munich - Germany
Research project for installation of electronic sliding pitch in Munich for World Cup in 2006. Project commenced in 2002.
