Support In Sport - Natural & Artificial Turf Installations

Parken Stadium, Copenhagen (Natural Turf)

parken jan11.02.jpgSIS have begun works at Parken stadium in Copenhagen to replace the existing pitch undersoil heating pipes which will be followed by a new turf pitch installation in preparation for upcoming fixtures which include England’s friendly match vs Argentina on February 9th followed by Chelsea visiting FC Copenhagen in the UEFA Champions League.

Works involved removing the old pitch pipes and disposing of them offsite before de-compacting the rootzone, mixing in new sand and re-grading prior to installing a new network of heating pipes into the pitch. The old pipes had been in place in the pitch for around 20 years. New turf will be harvested and transported from Germany and installed in two days giving plenty of time for establishment and preparation for February’s fixtures.

parken.jpg15th November 2010: SIS removed the stadium pitch at Parken using the ‘SISavator’ machine. The pitch required returfing following an annual concert. With only one week between the concert finishing and the next scheduled league game for FC Copenhagen, Parken Stadium required a new pitch ready to be played on in days. SIS transported 19 trucks of 40mm thick turf from their farm in Germany and 8,100m2 was installed in record time using a double installation team in just 12 hours!
