Trabzonspor Avni Aker Stadium, Turkey (Natural Turf)

SIS Eastern Europe has completed the returf of Trabzonspor Avni Aker Stadium following their Champions League game against Lille Metropole at home. The project had a tight deadline as the surface needed to be ready before the next league game on the 14th October. A total of 22 truckloads of natural turf were harvested in Germany and transported 3,600km to the stadium. The turf was tested on the farm and was appoved when the trucks reached the Turkish border. A further 2 trucks of specialist installation machines were sent from Holland. The distance of 3,600km was a record for SIS in transporting turf.
The pitch was complete in 3 days with 22 people overall working in Holland, Istanbul and Trabzon to meet the deadline and ensure the turf was perfect before and during installation.
