Hampden Pitch Installed for CIS Cup Final

A new natural grass pitch was installed by SIS for the CIS Cup Final at Hampden Park during the week the first week of March 2009. The pitch which was removed had been in place since 2004 when SIS also installed the surface.

The turf was supplied by County Turf from Lincolnshire and a total of 21 trucks were used in the operation. The pitch was removed in one day, pitch aeratred and turf installed in two days. A total of 9,400 meters of turf was insalled.

The pitch installation was filmed by Sky Sports and was televised by SKy during the week. This was the second natural grass pitch that SIS have installed in the past four weeks, the other pitch was installed at Parken Stadium in Copenhagen during February.
