Natural Turf Installations

Bernabeu Stadium - Real Madrid
SIS carried out a complete reconstruction. The project involved the removal of the Desso Grassmaster system, under soil heating system, replacement of part of the rootzone and installation of 40mm turf from Germany. SIS completed the works by installing SIS synthetic turf around the sides of the pitch. SIS also re constructed natural turf pitches at Real Madrid's Training Centre.


Shakhtar Donetsk – Ukraine
Complete stadium pitch build for the new 5 star stadium in Donetsk, which will host European finals in 2012. Pitch build to include, drainage, sub-air system, under soil heating, irrigation, natural root zone build up and running track. SIS is also contracted to set up a turf farm in the Ukraine so turf can be grown locally as the stadium is planned for multi functional use.


Luanda Stadium – Angola
SIS constructed the new national stadium in Luanda Angola. The pitch construction was a gravel bed, sand and root zone, the pitch was then seeded with Bermuda turf- Princess 77. The stadiums were built over a three month period by SIS employees. SIS built fourteen pitches in total for the Africa Cup of Nations, four stadium pitches and ten training pitches.

Hampden Park – Glasgow
Design and build new stadium pitch in 14 days. The project involved removing the pitch, including a layer of netlon sand & fibre mix. 20 miles of under soil heating pipe was removed and replaced with new heating pipes. The pitch including sub base rebuild and 40mm turf was installed in three days. SIS has installed pitches at Hampden Park on five separate occasions.
