Natural Turf Pitch Installations by SIS
Shakhtar Donetsk Stadium. Donetsk 2008/09
Full construction of a new natural grass pitch at the Shakhtar Donetsk stadium in the Ukraine. This projects includes, under-soil heating, a sub-air system, automatic irrigation and turfting of the pitch in April 2009. SIS won the project against international competition.
Parken Stadium, Copenhagen, 2009
SIS removed the Desso Grassmater system from the pitch at the Parken stadium, added new root zone a new levels and completed the project by turfing the pitch in 12 hours. The project was carried out in two stages, removal of the fibres and addition of new root zone in January 2009, and the second stage was the turfing of the pitch in February 2009.
Sporting Lisbon, Lisbon, 2007
SIS carried out a complete re build of the pitch which involved removing the Desso Grassmaster system, introducing a new root zone and importing 4,000 tonnes of sand to build a new pitch profile. The project was completed in two weeks and was a major logistical exercise which involved over 400 truck visits through the city.
Princes Park Stadium, Dartford, 2006

Harlow Town FC, Harlow, 2006
Installation of new pitch incorporating installation of drainage, automatic irrigation system and 20mm SIS purpose grown turf.
Coventry Arena - Coventry FC- England, 2005
New stadium and conference centre complex opened in August 2005. New reinforced natural grass pitch with under soil heating and automatic irrigation system. XtraGrass fibre carpet installed on a sand and root zone base and the carpet in filled with root zones and seeded.
FC Groningen - Groningen - The Netherlands, 2005
New natural grass stadium pitch completed and maintained by SIS BV until handover in November 2005. SIS BV completed the light study work in 2002 and completed the stadium pitch in the summer of 2005.
Celtic Park- Glasgow Celtic FC - Scotland (Pitch of the year 2005)
Removal of 40mm of turf and 110 mm of soil which contained a 'black layer' which restricted the growth of healthy grass. The pitch was laser levelled and new root zone added. Purpose grown turf was transported in 25 trucks from the SIS farm in Germany and the pitch was installed in 3 days. The complete operation took 6 days.
Quickboys Football Club, Natural Grass Pitch, the Netherlands
SIS was commissioned by the Dutch KNVB to build a new pitch for the national football team prior to Euro 2004. The new pitch was designed and built by SIS BV in 5 days and ensured that the Dutch national team were able to train on a similar pitch to that installed by SIS in Portugal.
Portman Road- Ipswich Town FC - England (Pitch of the year 2004)
Removal of 25 mm of turf, soil aerated with unique SIS machines, the Sisaerator Surface laser levelled and sand was mixed into the existing root zone. The surface levels were re-laser and the pitch was seeded on time. First game on new pitch was England V Croatia.
Stade du Pays de Charleroi - Charleroi - Belgium
Reconstruction of top layer and finished with returfing three weeks before the first game played in EURO 2000 competition. Field management during Euro 2000 competition.
Stadium Alkmaarderhout - Alkmaar - The Netherlands
Reconstruction of stadium pitch including new drainage system and irrigation system. The timetable required that the pitch was available for August 2nd. The reconstruction work was commenced in early May and the pitch was seeded at the end of May.
Hampden Park - Glasgow - Scotland
Design and build new stadium pitch in 14 days. This project was required to be completed in time for Scottish Cup Final and UEFA Champions League Final. The project involved removing the pitch, including a layer of netlon sand & fibre mix. Twenty miles of under soil heating pipe was removed and replace with new heating pipes. The pitch including basement and sub base was rebuilt and 40mm turf was installed in three days. Removal of under soil heating pipes. 20 miles of pipe. Project completed on time and on budget.
Carrington Training Centre - Manchester United - England
Design and installation of SIS AstroGrass (60*40) pitch for first team training all year round. A biodegradable carpet supplied by AstroTurf Europe called SIS AstroGrass was laid on the pitch; root zone added the pitch is seeded. SIS AstroGrass allows more games to be played over the year with less maintenance work. Project completed on time and on budget.
Oxford United FC - England
Design and installation of the first SIS XtraGrass dual purpose pitch in the UK. This pitch was installed at the new Oxford United stadium. The project included building a sand-based pitch with drainage and automatic irrigation system. A biodegradable carpet supplied by Greenfields, SIS XtraGrass. The carpet was laid on top of the sub base, in filled with a specific root zone and seeded. The pitch allows for more games to be played with lower maintenance costs. The project was completed on time and on budget.

Design and build a new pitch with a new drainage systems and automatic irrigation system. Provide an annual maintenance program as premiership sides and the England Football team use the pitch.
